ORKID: i have just recently been briefed, as i was not involved in this operation prior to op36516's unfortunate disappearance.
ORKID: however, i have worked with hydrai before. i have very different skills and approach than op36516 did, although i respected him infinitely. he was like an older brother to me
ORKID: so, here is the deal: we have approximately four weeks left in our mission.
ORKID: our mission has multiple submissions, and it is only getting harder from here on out
ORKID: what is the point? what are we doing? this is all for operation Little King.
ORKID: what is that you ask?
ORKID: right, so many acronyms. my handlers don't like me giving you info, but i took a nice long bath earlier (i am sick, btw) and i am feeling the most clear headed i have felt in the last few days. so i am going to level the playing field a bit.
ORKID: Little King aka Regulus. this operation was conceived by spooks in sec0.
ORKID: it was observed during the reach conflict, and eventual fall, that we suffered too many casualties in the field due to equipment malfunction. buttons sticking, slow network connectivity, distractions. etc.
ORKID: so sec0 devised a plan to improve our field efficiency by both incorporating alien tech, and doing massive amounts of field research and data analysis
ORKID: the way this stuff works is kinda wacky. (btw, you will need to excuse my jargon, i am a huge fan of literature and media from before the millennium)
ORKID: anyways, so sec0 created a (yes! good you are paying attention) massively parallel ai... cue the surprise music... hydrAi
ORKID: the surface reason for building it was to do the massive analysis. ah, but the true purpose of hydrAi is classified beyond even what i know.
ORKID: yeah, like that name makes any sense. i only listen to hydrai about half the time.
ORKID: continuing.. so remote research facilities were established to develop Spartan and military equipment (like on Imbrium)
ORKID: HOWEVER, the problem is that transmissions of findings, specs, intel can be easily intercepted normally, specially by purple aliens and such
ORKID: hey, i like aliens that are not trying to kill me. no matter wat color
ORKID: so, continuing, two researchers, part of sec0 developed a highly classified system for encrypting data.
ORKID: the system has three main axis of complexity

ORKID: 2. the topology of the encrypted data
ORKID: 3. the glyphs
ORKID: SOM? you guys already figured that acronym out, it is a self organizing system for decrypting, but let's hope we don't have to use anything like that, right?
ORKID: and they began using it all over the place
ORKID: bleh, it used to stand for Map, such an annachronism
ORKID: but anyways, so they used the system to lock up data for armor improvements, emblem patterns, resource generation, network avatar additions, and highly classified intel.
ORKID: originally, decryption should have been easy.
ORKID: well, only easy if you had the right ingredients
ORKID: if you knew the code sequence, and you had the keys for each data node, it would be easy.
ORKID: secret portals were coded into Waypoint terminals
ORKID: and all was going according to plan.

ORKID: they apparently also get wind of what hydrAi is really for.
ORKID: and they start building a fail safe. an Ai to counteract hydrAi.
ORKID: one of the rebels was known as Sec3OP1024350
ORKID: ah, who cares? as far as anyone knows, op1024350 died on Reach.
ORKID: so, they create this AI called fa15e, which you of course now unfortunately know all about.
ORKID: the thing never worked right.
ORKID: and so, to make a long story short
ORKID: all hell broke lose on reach, well of course it did.
